Katie retrained and rehomed her first horses in 2013 when she started working in the harness racing industry. Katie has over a decade of experience backing, restarting, training and producing young horses. 

Jamie is a Canadian showjumper and varsity team dressage rider who is just getting started in New Zealand. Jamie particularly enjoys producing horses from the ground up. Alongside Katie, Jamie owns and operates a successful equine training and riding lesson facility in Southland- Ardlussa Equine.

We live our dream rehoming Thoroughbreds and Standardbreds and are the only acknowledged retrainers for both breeds in Southland. We also teach riding lessons on a school string which includes 4 retired thoroughbreds, operate a stud and enjoy producing performance horses on our self made 20-acre equestrian facility. Ardlussa Equine successfully rehomed over 50 horses of both breeds in 2023 and we look forward to continuing for years to come.
