📚 FAQ
- What kind of microchip scanners does the app support?
ID MY TB works with Bluetooth scanners that support HID (Human Interface Device) mode. This means the scanner acts like a keyboard and automatically types the scanned microchip number into the app. Please ensure your scanner is set to HID mode before use.
- What types of microchips are compatible with the app?
The app accepts any microchip number that the scanner transmits in HID mode. While most microchips used in horses follow ISO standards, compatibility depends more on your scanner's ability to read the chip and send the data correctly.
- How do I scan a microchip?
Make sure your Bluetooth scanner is powered on, connected to your device in HID mode, and then navigate to the Microchip Scan screen in the app. Once the scanner reads a chip, the microchip number will automatically appear.
- Why is the microchip number not showing up when I scan?
- Check that the scanner is connected to your phone via Bluetooth.
- Ensure the scanner is in HID mode.
- Confirm that location services are enabled on your device.
- Try scanning into a notes app to confirm the scanner is working.
- If the number still doesn't appear in the app, restart the app and try again.
- How do I view the full horse details after scanning?
After scanning the microchip, tap the "i" (Info) button next to the microchip number to see detailed horse information.
- Can I search or filter previous scans?
Yes! In the History tab, use the date filter at the top to narrow down your scanned records.
- How do I log out of the app?
Go to the Settings tab and tap the Logout button at the bottom of the screen.
- Why is my scanned data missing?
Scanned data is saved locally and (if connected to the internet) also synced online. If you're offline, your data will still be stored on the device and sync later when you're back online.
