The New Zealand Thoroughbred Horse of the Year Awards is an esteemed event in New Zealand racing, serving as a grand celebration of success and excellence, bringing together the industry's prominent stars. With over 20 awards presented, including the highly coveted Sport Nation Horse of the Year accolade, this event honours the top performers of the previous racing season, both horses and humans alike.

Since its inception in 1991, the Thoroughbred Racing Awards has become an annual tradition, recognising outstanding achievements. Winners are presented with an exquisite bronze trophy crafted by the renowned sculptor, Gerard McCabe, adding to the prestige of the occasion.
