Winter racing is right around the corner and our fiercely competitive jumps jockeys will have an added incentive to perform on raceday, with the newly announced Jumps Jockey Bonus Series.

Jumps racing, known as steeplechasing or National Hunt racing, has a popular following in New Zealand. Racecourses across the country place baton hurdle fences, and larger brush fences across the track for horses to leap over as they race throughout the winter months.

In the series sponsored by Knottingly Farms, jockeys will be able to accumulate points across all the jumping races on the calendar, spanning from the Sunday 11 May at Whanganui, to Sunday 21 September at Te Aroha. The series will be hosted at multiple courses across the Northern and Central Districts, and the Grand National Carnival at Riccarton Park.
