Panorama Equestrian

Nestled in the heart of the Wairarapa farmland, Panorama Equestrian is a family-owned business set on 25 hectares of flat and rolling farmland. Established in 2010, we’re passionate about horses, people, and the connection between them.

Our business has four main areas of focus:

  1. Education – We offer riding lessons for children and adults, from beginners to competitive riders. Over the years, we’ve also provided full-time training for grooms and equine professionals.
  2. Training and Retraining – We specialise in bringing on and retraining Thoroughbreds, ponies, and warmbloods for sale or for use within our riding school.
  3. Rehabilitation – Working closely with veterinarians and owners, we help horses recover from injury or illness through structured rehabilitation programmes.
  4. Grazing and Agistment – We provide quality care and space for horses needing short- or long-term grazing.

Meet Our Equine Manager

Samantha Stallard leads our equine operations. With experience across a wide range of stables throughout New Zealand, Sam has built an impressive foundation of knowledge and hands-on expertise. As our main instructor, she focuses on both horse and rider, offering insightful guidance that considers each horse’s conformation, temperament, and individual potential.

Sam is dedicated to continual learning, regularly training with top professionals to refine her skills. She has a particular passion for Thoroughbreds and finds great satisfaction in helping horses and riders grow together. While not driven by competition herself,

Sam competes selectively as part of her horses’ development.

Our Approach
Every horse taken on for training or sale undergoes a thorough health assessment and a period of rest before beginning an individualised training programme. Our focus is always on developing the horse’s physical and mental wellbeing, preparing them for their next chapter.

Thanks to our well-established riding school and regional connections, we are proud to retrain and rehome a number of Thoroughbreds each year — helping them transition successfully into new careers and loving homes.
