Southern Cups Bonus Series

About the Series

February - April 2025

New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing (NZTR), Entain New Zealand, and Riverton Racing Club have joined forces to announce the $50,000 Southern Cups bonus.

The series will cover five Cup races, including:

  • Sunday 2 February | $50,000 MLT Gore Cup (2000m)
  • Saturday 15 February | $60,000 Baillie & Lewis Pharmacy Invercargill Cup (2600m)
  • Saturday 1 March | $170,000 Positive Signs + Print Dunedin Gold Cup (2400m)
  • Sunday 9 March | $35,00 Caldwell Contracting Wyndham Cup (2000m)
  • Saturday 19 April | $80,000 Kennedy Building Riverton Cup (2147m)

The prize will be a $50,000 winner-take-all bonus, awarded to the connections of the horse with the highest points accumulated from the five Cup races. To be eligible for the bonus horses must compete in minimum 3 of the 5 races.
