New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing (NZTR) acknowledges the resignation of Harness Racing New Zealand (HRNZ) Chief Executive Officer Brad Steele.
Steele has made a significant contribution to the Harness racing code during his tenure, providing leadership through a period of change and working to strengthen the profile and connections of the sport across the wider racing industry.
NZTR Chief Executive Officer Matt Ballesty said Steele had been a committed and constructive industry leader.
“We have appreciated the opportunity to work with Brad and would like to acknowledge the contribution he has made to Harness racing and our wider industry during his time as Chief Executive.”
“In recent months, Harness Racing New Zealand and New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing have worked closely together to identify areas where greater alignment is possible, and Brad has contributed to that work in a thoughtful and constructive way.
“He is one of the industry’s hard-working executives whose efforts often go without recognition. On behalf of the NZTR Board and Management, we thank Brad for his contribution and wish him all the very best for the future,” Ballesty said.
NZTR looks forward to continuing to work collaboratively with HRNZ on matters of shared interest and in support of the wider racing industry.
