Robert was elected at the Association’s National Annual General Meeting and will lead its work advocating for trainers and their businesses across the thoroughbred racing industry.
The Association acknowledged Shaun’s commitment and leadership throughout his five-year tenure, during which he gave generously of his time to represent trainers and contributed significantly to the Association’s engagement with industry stakeholders.
The AGM also provided an opportunity for the National Executive to hold open and constructive discussions with senior representatives from across the racing industry.
Guests included Jason Fleming of TAB NZ and the Establishment Board, NZTR Chair and Establishment Board member Paul Humphries, Racing Integrity Board Chief Executive Dr Eliot Forbes, NZTR Chief Executive Matt Ballesty, NZTR General Manager Racing Mitch Lamb and NZTR Head of Licensing Matthew Williamson.
The National Executive welcomed the opportunity to put questions directly to industry leaders and ensure trainers’ perspectives and concerns were clearly heard on matters affecting participants and the wider industry.
NZTR congratulates Robert on his election and acknowledges Shaun for his service and contribution to the Association and New Zealand thoroughbred racing.
